No base rate increase, one year bill credit for NPPD customers in 2020

Columbus, Neb. – There was a piece of good news for Nebraska Public Power District customers during the monthly meeting of the Board of Directors: no increase in base electric rates and a one-year bill credit for 2020!
For NPPD retail customers the approval of no rate increase for 2020 marks the seventh year in a row with no increase, while wholesale customers (public power districts and municipalities) that purchase electricity from NPPD will see a third consecutive year with no base rate increase . . . continue reading
Diamond RP3 designation earned by NPPD . . . again

Columbus, Neb. - For the second time since 2017, Nebraska Public Power District has
earned a Diamond Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)® designation from the
American Public Power Association for providing reliable and safe electric service.
“Receiving this designation for a second time recognizes NPPD as one of the best in the nation based on the criteria,” said Vice President and Retail General Manager Tim Arlt. “Our teammates take tremendous pride in all we do for the benefit of our customers, and we aim to provide top-notch service for them. This is a high bar achieved by a small percentage of public power utilities in the country.”
The RP3 designation, which lasts for three years, recognizes public power utilities that demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines: reliability, safety, workforce development, and system improvement. Criteria include sound business practices and a utility-wide commitment to safe and reliable delivery of electricity. NPPD recognized as Safest Company with Distinction

Columbus, Neb. – The National Safety Council, Nebraska Chapter (NSC, NE) is once again recognizing several Nebraska companies for outstanding safety initiatives and performance; among those being honored for many consecutive years of outstanding safety performance is Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD).

Harding selected for three-year term on
APPA council

Columbus, Neb. – Nebraska Public Power District Board
member Mary Harding of Plattsmouth was recently named to
a three-year term on the American Public Power Association’s
(APPA) Policy Makers Council (PMC) by its Board of Directors.
A seventh generation Nebraskan, Harding graduated from the
University of Nebraska Lincoln with a degree in Bilingual Education and completed graduate work at the University of Colorado in Boulder in sociolinguistics. Mary and her husband operate a residential rental property business in Lincoln. She has served on the NPPD Board of Directors for 17 years and currently serves as second vice chair for 2020.
Harding is a member of the Plattsmouth Planning Commission, appointed in 2016 . . continue reading
